Upon request, a motor carrier must provide the number of its safety permit to a person who offers a hazardous material listed in Sec. 385.403 for transportation in commerce. A motor carrier's permit number will also be available to the public on the FMCSA Safety and Fitness Electronic Records System at http://www.safersys.org.
